Service Description

This class will offer gentle somatic movement to warm the body, a mindful flow through Yoga asanas to both build heat as well as awareness of alignment, and opportunities for deep stretch, rest, meditation and rejuvenation. Modifications will be offered, and taking the class at your own pace always encouraged. Mats and props available. Brianna's Bio: Brianna Taylor is a multidisciplinary movement artist and educator, choreographer, performer, yoga instructor and Thai massage and reiki practitioner. She holds an MFA in Choreography from the UNC Greensboro, as well yoga teaching certifications from the Laughing Lotus in San Francisco, and the Eldorado Mountain Yoga Ashram in Colorado, totaling over 500 hours. Brianna is also currently an adjunct professor of dance at the University of Florida and Florida State College of Jacksonville. She has taught at Elon University, UNCG, UNCC, and Salem College, instructing courses in Yoga, Contemporary and West African Dance, and choreography, and has taught yoga in studios around NYC, San Francisco, Greensboro, NC, and Boulder, CO. She is also the founder and artistic director of Confluence Performance Project, a multi-disciplinary performance group founded in 2014. Her work has been showcased around NYC, as well as in the San Francisco Bay area; Greensboro, NC; Boulder, CO; Portland, OR; Washington, DC; Paris, France; and Lausanne, Switzerland.  Brianna studied traditional Thai Massage at the Naga Center in Portland, OR with Nephyr Jacobsen in 2007 and has been practicing since. Additionally, she trained and practiced the Outer Reach method in NYC, an assisted stretching technique created by Toni Mealas. Brianna is also a level three attuned Reiki practitioner under the guidance of master teacher Sky Bradshaw. Brianna’s intention as a teacher is to hold space for her students to find openness and ease in their bodies, through movement, breath, alignment, and sound, and she encourages an environment of listening and nurturing, playfulness and love.
