Have you ever come to yoga class feeling a bit overwhelmed with stress or just kind of down? And then when you leave you feel clearer, lighter, refreshed? Sure, we could chalk it up to just a good workout, but some would say that certain yoga poses and breathwork moved blocked energy through your body. And with a little practice, you can tap into this as a way to shift your energy in the direction you want it to go. Essentially “balancing” your chakras or, your energy ~ your chi ~ your prana.
In Sanskrit, the ancient language of yoga, the word chakra means “wheel” or “circle”. There are seven main chakras in the body that represent our vital energy centers. You cannot see them or touch them – it is where your energy (prana) flows. Balanced chakras allow energy to flow freely, promoting health, vitality, and harmony. But life experiences such as illness, trauma, and stress can cause imbalances which block the flow of energy. These imbalances produce a wide array of ailments & disturbances and can result in chronic illness, disease, and habitual patterns of thinking, feeling, & behaving. So, with a little practice of tuning into the body, the chakras can be cleared, rebalanced, and energized through yoga, breathwork, meditation, and essential oils.
Join Suzanne Shultz E-RYT500/YACEP, Reiki and Crystal Master, and Aromatherapist as we explore the combined benefits of yoga and essential oils to help you bring balance to your chakra system. By using the principles of the chakras you can examine and begin to recognize where your body and emotions are out of balance. Bringing focus to your yoga asana practice combined with the use of essential oils can balance the areas of your body and life that need it.

For centuries it has been proved that yoga provides emotional benefits as well as the physical benefits we often associate it with. Yoga reduces feelings of anxiety, stress & depression; and increases feeling of self-acceptance, calmness & balance. Essential oils are renowned for their ability to promote spiritual focus, enhance mental clarity, and emotional well-being. Here we will combine the two practices in a nurturing and healing experience to bring balance to the physical body. You will learn about the chakra system and essential oils & how they work on the body & mind, to improve overall health and well-being. We will then explore 7 essential oils specifically selected to target the 7 main chakras, and unearth the many versatile ways we can incorporate them into our daily yoga practice for overall wellness. We will seal our day with a meditative yin yoga practice designed to balance all seven chakras.
*No previous experience necessary.
*This workshop is Yoga Alliance certified and is accepted as continuing education credits (CEUs) for registered yoga teachers. But you do not have to be a yoga teacher to come!
About Suzanne Shultz E-RYT500 & YACEP | Aromatherapist | Reiki & Crystal Master
BIO: Suzanne embarked on her journey to yoga in 2008 in search of her "off switch". After 25 years in retail management all she knew how to do was be "on". Yoga had a profound effect on her life both physically and emotionally. She felt compelled to harness this new vitality, this sense of wellness, and share the power with others. She trained with Yogacharya Eric Walrabenstein at Yoga Pura (Phoenix) and is currently an E-RYT500 with Yoga Alliance, a Certified Yin Yoga Teacher and Yoga Nidra Facilitator, Reiki Master, Aromatherapist, as well as a Certified Katherine Roberts’ Yoga For Golfers Instructor and Official Trainer for FXP Hula Hoop Fitness. She is also a YACEP, Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider, who provides continuing education credits for other yoga teachers. Her classes focus on alignment with a profound (or not so profound) intention, a little humor, and a lot of realism.
As the author of YES: Your Empowered Self® workshops & training modules, she incorporates the sister science of Ayurveda and the power of essential oils into her practice for an overall sense of well-being. Suzanne offers support & loyalty in the hopes that others may come to realize their own strength. This inspired her to partner with the Yoga and Body Image Coalition to spread the word that every body is a yoga body.
When she is not on her mat you can most likely find her immersed in some new yoga book, her trusty rescued companion Zsa Zsa, also known as "Yoga Dog", by her side, and yes, a glass of wine is close-by also.
